MOVIES

Since nobody can tell you what to write about in your own blog, I’m going to write about whatever I feel like. Right now I was thinking about movies, so all I’m going to do is list some movies that I absolutely love and consider must-sees. I’m not going to make comments about each of them, because I don’t think it’s necessary unless somebody cares enough to ask (so if anybody does, I'll happily answer any question). I’m sure that I’ll forget a ton, so I’ll just add them when I remember them. I’m also sure that some of them are obvious, but that’s not a reason not to list them.
Soon I’m going to add a similar post about music and books. Let me know what you guys think!

Dancer In The Dark
The Godfather
Snatch
Lock, Stock And Two Smoking…
Talk to Her
Magnolia
Fight Club
American History X
Bad Education
Sleepers
The Remains of the Day
ANY Tarantino movie
The Usual Suspects
Un Oso Rojo
Nueve Reinas
The Girl on the Bridge
Dead Man Walking
American Beauty
Forrest Gump
The Royal Tenenbaums
Being John Malkovich
The Sixth Sense
Amores Perros
ANY Michael Moore documentary
As Good As It Gets
Trainspotting
Cinema Paradiso
A day without a Mexican
Amelie

I know, I know, the list should be a lot bigger. Don’t think that I don’t have more, because I’m going to keep adding movies to this list. You guys do the same!

You should see "Freeway" with Reece Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland. It's similar to a Tarantino film. It's kind of a dark comedy. It's one of my favorites.

I actually haven't watched a lot of the movies you listed. I'm interested to know which you really liked and for what reasons.
I loved Amelie! Her humor and outlook on life was really interesting. Fight Club is up there with my favorite films of all time. I also love Tarantino's movies, I like how he incorporates his themes into the scenes. It's so colorful, intense and pure. As good as it gets is a cute movie too, but there isn't anything very original about it (yet I own it and watch it frequently).
American Beauty is one of my favs. I really like movies that keep me thinking.

hey Melynch,
I'm going to start with a couple of movies now, but you can e-mail me to netrijose@gmail.com and I can tell you more about all of them.
"Dancer in the dark" is just beautiful. it's one of the saddest movies you'll ever see, but it's pure art. I'm not into musicals, but in this one they sing sometimes, and it just fits. bjork is amazing here, and so is everybody else.
I don't think I need to say much about "The Godfather". that's simply a must-see.
If you like Tarantino, then you'll like "Snatch". There's a lot of violence, a lot of dark humor, and you have to follow it closely or you just get lost.
